Lowering the Bar - Chicago

Two nights in we have yet to find the ultimate cocktail bar. One that makes a White Lady, a Sazerac or other classic libation with ease and quality spirits.
Sometimes you can't always get what you want.
Welcome to Rossi's.

Dark at all hours, Rossi's was voted #3 dive bar in a recent underground poll. But according to Kevin, who mans the wood, they are really #2 since the number one spot, Sea of Happiness, closed its doors.

The jukebox was pumping out loud happy tunes chosen by one of the patrons at the bar. A group of young women were doing tequila shots. Everybody minded their own business. Everyone seemed content.
No fancy drinks or house made bitters, but if you wanted something shaken, a red plastic cocktail shaker was put to good use.
We enjoyed glasses of Fat Tire, a delicious Belgian-style beer made "somewhere in the U.S.".

Rossi's. A dying breed.
412 N. State, Chicago.
